If you’ve been around the internet for any time at all, you probably remember [maybe with some pain] the slow speed of dial up internet access. Maybe some of you who are reading this still are “stuck” in a location where that is the ONLY access possible. Well my friends, that’s about to change.
During a tour of duty in the military I was exposed to a communications link that was called a T-1 line. It required a LOT of maintenance effort but it was the line that the PRIORITY messages traveled over BECAUSE there was NO measurable distortion of the signal and the signal could travel down this line VERY fast!
If you call your phone company and ask for a quote to have T-1 line access at YOUR home, you might just have the “Big One” when they tell you the price! The price in my area is about $400 a month and 30 miles is a typical limiting distance [from the exchange] but that too will soon change!
