Water is good for you… if it’s good water!

When you think of your health, what comes to mind? The air you breathe? The food you eat? How about the water you drink every day?

Every day of our lives, we turn on the water tap to get a drink of water. We tell ourselves that in the United States, water is basically safe to drink. We reassure ourselves that contaminated drinking water is only in emerging countries – or perhaps a few isolated spots in North America.

Without water, arms couldn’t flex, eyes couldn’t see, and the heart couldn’t beat. Water is an element so fundamental in our lives that it comprises over 60% of our body weight. With only 1 percent of the Earth’s water available for drinking, we need to take this natural resource a little more seriously.

Across North America, reports about contaminated drinking water occur frequently. Incidents that make news, however, are only a part of the problem. North Americans can be ingesting any number of different contaminants without even knowing it.

Concern about the quality of drinking water is growing. Many residents believe their tap water quality is poor or only fair at best. We are concerned about the quality of your tap water, how about you?

Tips for Boosting YOUR Business in 2010

It’s the time of year when many people take a moment to write what are typically called “New Year’s Resolutions.” Unfortunately, shortly after they’re written… they’re often put aside and forgotten.

What if you wrote four or five workable ‘resolutions’ for YOUR business and then implemented them? How would that change the way YOUR business works? I’m betting that the mere fact that you were seriously “doing something effective” would make a huge difference anyway…

So, what will YOUR resolutions be? Getting more Leads? Getting more Traffic to your website? How about converting more traffic into sales? Or how about a HOT product to sell? Maybe one you don’t have to “pack and ship?”

My goal here is to get you thinking. Thinking about YOUR business and ramping it up so that you can be profitable in the coming year(s). The best tips I can offer you are not some huge revelations that have not been shared before… so take hope! Like me… who had heard these things for a long time before I finally “got it” and began implementing what works!

So, What Works??? … you ask. In my mind… lots of traffic to a page that converts is at the top of the list! And just HOW do you get lots of traffic? There are many ways and your choice may depend upon your finances… so we’ll discuss some of them here and YOU choose.

For those who are challenged financially… there’s always FREE traffic from Traffic Exchanges. You simply join a Traffic Exchange, post your page(s) to be displayed to visitors to the exchange, and then you click through the pages the exchange shows you… and IN EXCHANGE (thus the term – Traffic Exchange) for doing that… the exchange shows YOUR page to the other members. I find it helpful to join a number of exchanges and promote my page(s) on all of them. Then I surf a group of them at once (described as tabbed browsing) and gain a much wider viewership and exposure to my page. The use of Splash Pages that display QUICKLY is most important for much success on these Traffic Exchanges. Make sure to capture a name and email address and having a timely “Giveaway” to make it worth your page visitor’s while to give you their information.

If you want to know WHAT Traffic Exchanges to use… There are two lists that I always look at to see where I should be surfing and those lists are at Traffic Hoopla and Affiliate Funnel. These two lists update weekly and you’ll find both of them posted on my Top Traffic Exchanges page. This page is updated regularly so you can BOOKMARK that page and see in an instant how your favorite Traffic Exchange is ranked today!

Another great way to get TRAFFIC to your web pages is through blogging. If your website is hosted by a company that gives you a CPanel to manage your server space, “One Click” of your mouse will set up a WordPress Blog for you in just a few minutes. Of course you can spent time and money “fancying up” a blog but that is NOT necessary. What IS necessary is for you to make regular posts about what YOU do and what you’re promoting online. If it’s pills and potions… write some short posts about the latest one, how to get it, what it’s purpose is and how YOU benefit from it. Keep in mind the new FTC regulations and don’t say anything that would get you in trouble. If you have any doubts… there are LOTS of sources for legal counsel and I am not on that list! But get some solid advice and in plain language… don’t lie, don’t stretch the truth… and medical claims are a quick way to trouble.

Maybe my choice of examples was not the best… but everyone today MUST begin being TOTALLY honest and truthful in their advertising. Often, you’ll find that “less is more” in cases where you would wonder if you should say something… or not!

All That Said… blogging is picked up instantly by the search engines. Bold your Key Words. Hyper-link one or two of them to your main web page. Then, post your article. Double click the title of your article and then copy the LONG URL you see in your browser bar. Now, go to http://bit.ly and shorten your link at bit.ly. Take your shortened link and “Tweet” it on Twitter to your following.

What, you don’t have a Twitter Account? Shame on you! (my opinion…) You have 140 characters in which to make a short plea and then share your bit.ly link.

So how does all this work???

1. You Tweet the short link.

2. Your followers read the Tweet and click your link.

3. If you’ve posted an interesting article, they’ll see the bolded keywords and hopefully click them…

4. That takes them to your page and if your offer is good and your “FREEBIE” is attractive enough… they’ll want it enough to give you their name and email address for it!

5. If you have an Autoresponder Account (I use AWeber.com) your form will do all that Double Opt-In stuff that makes your lead capture legal and then your autoresponder series of at least seven to ten messages can “Tell & Sell” them on the virtues of your product and why they should buy it!

Wow… I had no idea that I had so much to share about this subject and I’m just getting warmed up. If you’ll check back in a few days, I promise to post a few more tips on how you can get MORE FREE Traffic to your website and hopefully create more conversions.

Thanksgiving 2009

In this year of 2009 many of us, here in the United States, have less to be thankful for than we had last year… thanks in a large part to the current economic situation.

The most thanks, however, goes to the members of Congress and the “Current Administration” who are spending money that they DO NOT HAVE and can get only by taxing us and taking away even more from us… so we’ll have even LESS next year to give thanks for!

Yes, that’s a mouthfull… and all true!

I got the news yesterday that an associate’s home had burned to the ground while she was away at work. Fortunately her father, who is wheelchair bound, was able to get to the door and escape… with the dog! All they have left is the clothes on their backs… What to be thankful for??? Well, for starters, the place was insured! And she has lots of friends who are pitching in to help out, both financially and otherwise.

Stories like this give us hope in this time of year. Knowing that there are still good people around who will help you out when you’re down on your luck. Having good friends is so important these days… and in these days of isolation and not necessarily knowing who your neighbors are… maybe it’s a good time to actually find out? Say a friendly Hello! Don’t lower your eyes or turn away. Instead, open up just a little and let a friendship happen. Hold that door for someone, let them go first, smile instead of scowl. Little things can mean a lot so think about it and take a turn at being the best YOU that you can be!

You may not have a HUGE spread to invite folks over to share but you can still be nice to people… and NOT just during the holidays… but all year long.

Here’s hoping YOU have something to celebrate at Thanksgiving and that you have someone wonderful to celebrate it with. A great meal is just a nice PLUS in the equation… from my point of view!

And, lest we forget, we’re able to celebrate Thanksgiving day because of our Men and Women of the Armed Forces who serve so that you don’t have to! Remember them always in your prayers and in your contributions, when asked.

Bottled water is in the news again!

From Yahoo News – “Stricter labeling urged for bottled water” according to the Government Accountability Office and the-Environmental Working Group.

Bottled water should be “a distant second choice” to filtered tap water.
“Consumers are misinformed about bottled water.”
EPA limits the presence of impurities in tap water but not in bottled water.
Is YOUR bottled water anything more than regular “Tap Water?”
Is it really safe? How would YOU know???
Some companies charge as much as 1,000 times more for bottled water.

Solving Life’s Little Problems…

In today’s economy it’s common to overhear conversations that I categorize as “Gloom and Doom.” So many people find themselves in Overwhelm and after a while… when no solution presents itself, they don’t always make the best decisions.

Hopefully, you are not in that situation… and if you are, I am NOT a coach… so don’t expect any of those great words of wisdom from me. I do know a great coach, however, and if you ask me I can put you in contact and it’s possible you can find your way out of your dilemma.

In the meantime, if some extra cash would help you out of the situation you’re in… I have some ideas in that regard and I’ll share them with you in the next few paragraphs…

This week I happened to be in a state office building near where I live to set up an LLC for a business we’re starting. I was amazed at the number of people that were there, in what’s supposed to be a DOWN economy, starting their OWN businesses! I guess, when you’re laid off or just need to make money, striking out on your own seems like the right way to go for more people than I thought!

That said, have YOU ever had thoughts of starting and/or owning your own business? It can be an intimidating thought. And then, if you start a “Home Based Business” you could actually run a business out of a spare room in your house or from your kitchen table.

I’ve started several of these and some have done much better than others. The ones that did well were the ones in which I listened to those who were provided to guide me to success. When I followed in the footsteps of those who were where I wanted to be… darn if I didn’t also have tremendous success. There were some disappointments along the way but by and large, when I followed the plan that was laid out for me… I made money! And, when I started doing it MY WAY… that’s when my business headed for the tank. There’s a lesson there!

With so many of today’s society fitting the mold of “Baby Boomers” I took note of the many complaints that I’ve heard in general chit-chat about aches and pains and general sluggishness, overweight challenges, difficulty in sleeping and lack of energy. I’m afraid that much of this is a result of the way many of us eat and or drink. Too much coffee, too many sweets and way too few fruits and vegetables in our diets.

As I am a military retiree, and an old country boy, I was always a meat and potatoes kind of guy. Living overseas and meeting new people after I retired lead me to a much more vegetarian lifestyle. Quitting smoking, getting more exercise and a healthy diet has helped me to reach the ripe old age where I find myself. I’m now observing some of those aches and pains as a “baby boomer” and I wanted a way to combat them naturally… as all the pills that are promoted on the “Idiot Box” typically cause more problems than they ever cover up. Notice that I didn’t say they fixed anything…

In my search for something Natural to help me live longer and enjoy that extra life span more… I discovered that the natives in the Amazon Rain Forrest have lived long and healthy lives and one of the main reasons for that long and healthy life is the Acai berry. I did some serious research and I found that everybody is selling something with an Acai berry in it and I can even get them in raw form at my local health food store.
