Day Four of The 7-Day Healthy Cleanse by Shaklee

I must be getting used to this change to my diet because today I didn’t feel like I was going to starve! Breakfast included a big bowl of oatmeal with Blueberries and Strawberries and two slices of whole wheat toast – plain! I did have a small cup of coffee while making breakfast and drank water with the meal. After breakfast I took the MORNING package of pills for The 7-Day Healthy Cleanse by Shaklee and my regular supplements.

Through the day I drank lots of filtered water and occasionally snacked on slices of a big Fuji apple. Lunch was similar to Monday’s… just MORE! Again, no sodas, no chips (my normal) and no chocolate.

Once home I finished the second Fuji apple and a few pieces of carrots and cauliflower that were left in my lunch box. Again, followed by LOTS of filtered water. Yes… all that drinking does make you go real often but then… if you read the article I gave you the link to on Monday (Day Two) you know why drinking lots of cold water is really good for you. Weight loss and loss of hunger.

This evening I will have the ‘other half’ of the salad package I opened last evening. To spice up the salad I shaved in Sweet Onion and ran a couple of cloves of Garlic through my garlic press and tonight I will add some sliced cherry tomatoes. Seasoning is Balcamic Vinegar and Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

All this is followed by the NIGHT set of pills for The 7-Day Healthy Cleanse by Shaklee and my regular supplements.

So, what am I noticing as I progress through this Cleanse? First, I slept the night through last night. That’s NOT a normal occurrence for me so I am hoping for a repeat performance tonight. I’ll let you know. Second, I do believe I had more energy today than normal. During this holiday season work is hectic, the pace is non-stop and I was able to perform at a peak level all day and not feel tired at all. Aside of getting rid of all the water I am drinking, trips to the bathroom let me know that I am doing the right thing by participating in The 7-Day Healthy Cleanse by Shaklee because… I can tell that there MUST have been “old stuff” that needed to be cleaned out and this Cleanse is doing that for me.

Day Three Part 2 of The 7-Day Healthy Cleanse by Shaklee

I wondered how long it would be before the “Cleansing” began. Wonder no more! I felt quite a rumbling inside and headed for the bathroom. When you do the cleanse, make sure the VENT FAN in your bathroom works! I wonder how long some of what was “cleansed” from my personal “septic system” had been in there… but it’s there no longer. If this is “too much information” for you that’s O.K. but in sharing this you can know that the The 7-Day Healthy Cleanse by Shaklee does what it is advertised to do! It WILL clean you out!

Breakfast was awesome. All those Blueberries and Strawberries really spiced up the Oatmeal. Also two slices of toast and light coat of butter.

Lunch was a bit different from yesterday. A huge serving of fresh vegetables (no dressing today) and a serving of green peas, warmed up in the microwave, with two glasses of water.

Mid afternoon snacks included fresh fruit (canteloupe, honeydew mellon, apples, carrots and broccoli) and again, lots of water. So much water, it feels like my insides are swimming!

My evening meal was maybe a bit outside the menu but I’m hungry and I had a huge crunch salad with vinegar and oil accompanied by a healthy serving of pinto beans. And as usual, followed by big glasses of water. I say big because my glass holds 24 ounces of water.

I would show you pictures of today’s meal but WordPress just updated to the latest version and it changed how images are added. I hope to figure that out quickly!

I just took my evening 7-Day Healthy Cleanse pills and yes, I told you yesterday I’d talk about them today so here goes. Like the morning pills, there are 5 Alfalfa Complex and 2 Liver Detox pills. Different in the evening you find two Herb-Lax tablets. Herb-Lax is for occasional irregularity. It’s a natural and gentle laxative that encourages a mild cleansing action to aid the body’s natural processes.

Tomorrow’s lunch is all packed and in the frig ready to go with me to work tomorrow. Similar to Monday’s lunch, just MORE!

If any of you reading this wonder what the price of The 7-Day Healthy Cleanse by Shaklee is… you can get it from my website at for around $50.00 and then you go shopping for all your fruits and vegetables. My experience tells me the package of tablets is minor compared to the expense of all the fruits and vegetables I am consuming on this diet… but… Once a year to “reset” my systems for another year is worth it to me. You change the oil in your car (if it’s not electric) don’t you? Have you ever seen the oil after it has been in an engine WAY past the time to change it? YUCK!  If you have, compare that to YOUR system. Isn’t regular cleaning a GOOD thing?

More tomorrow as I forge on through day FOUR of The 7-Day Healthy Cleanse by Shaklee.

Day Three of the 7-Day Healthy Cleanse by Shaklee

Tuesday is my day-off during the week and I awakened to a growling tummy instead of an alarm clock! Seriously!!!

So I rolled out and headed for the refrigerator to see what was available for a quick snack that works for the 7-Day Healthy Cleanse by Shaklee.

I found a half full tray of fresh fruit which I quickly consumed. That helped SOME… While eating the fruit I fixed me my ONE cup of coffee and began cooking my Oatmeal breakfast. I use BULK Oats from the local health food store instead of some brand name product at the grocery that you probably are familiar with.

Yesterday I only seasoned my Oats with Stevia and Blueberries. Today I’m adding fresh Strawberries as well! Should really spice up the taste and the good thing I have learned is that both Blueberries and Strawberries are REALLY good for you, healthwise. (In reasonable quantities, of course.)

Now it’s time to eat so I’m gonna post this and get down to solving that “human alarm clock” that is still going off in my empty tummy!

Day Two of the 7-Day Healthy Cleanse by Shaklee

I Rise and Shine early to one cup of coffee with Stevia for sweetening. Breakfast included Oatmeal seasoned with Stevia and Organic Blueberries and two pieces of toasted wheat bread, lightly buttered. NO Jelly!

Packed lunch for the day. Two sliced apples, one banana, tupperware bowl full of fresh veggies and a “little” dip (picture below) and 3 quarts of Filtered WATER.

Monday's Lunch of Fresh Veggies and dip.

After breakfast I took the morning package of pills for the Cleanse. There are 7 pills in the package. One Liver Detox, One Probiotic and 5 Alfalfa Complex tablets. The Alfalfa Comples is a green Superfood abundant in Vitamins, Minerals and Chlorophyll.

During the day, at approximately two hour intervals I made a quick run to the store’s break room and grabbed fruit and or veggies to keep me going while drinking all the water I could handle. Admittedly, I made an inordinate number of trips to the restroom with all that drinking.

Lunch couldn’t come soon enough. I do work full time and the pace is hectic this time of year with all the shoppers picking the shelves empty and I’m going as fast as I can to refill them. It’s suggested to not do workouts while on the Cleanse but I can’t stop or take time off so I ate everything I took with me today and my next scheduled day I will include MORE so I can keep going!

I stopped on the way home and picked up more Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil to stir fry with and to use on my salads ( Oil & Vinegar ).

As I sit here keying this I’m drinking more Filtered Water with half of a lemon’s juice, fresh squeezed.

My evening meal will be a large salad with Oil & Vinegar and another big glass of Filtered Water followed by the Evening pills for the Cleanse. I’ll talk about the evening pills tomorrow.

I hope you’re getting the ‘hint’ that WATER is a big part of the cleanse. Do you know how important water really is to you? Some years ago I penned a page on my website and it’s all about the importance of WATER. See it here:

Stay tuned. I will be posting all through the week as I participate in The Shaklee 7-Day Healthy Cleanse.

The 7-Day Healthy Cleanse… Day One Experience

Today went well. We (my Wife and I) had Steamed Vegetables for lunch. (See below) LOTS of water through the day and no additional coffee or sodas. Snacks included a big tray of raw vegetables from Costco and fresh cut fruit plate from the Giant grocery down the street. In all, no noticeable hunger and no headache from NOT drinking a lot of coffee.

Steamed Veggies for Lunch today.
Steamed Veggies for Lunch

The evening meal consisted of stir fried vegetables. The recipe says use Olive Oil but since I had less than I thought I did… I used Organic Coconut Oil instead. The Coconut Oil gives a really wonderful taste to the veggies. Oh yes, we stir fried: Bok Choi, Kale, Cauliflower, Broccoli, Sliced Carrot, Red Cabbage and LOTS of Onion.

Tomorrow’s lunch is all packed for me to take with to work. One Banana, two sliced Fuji Apples and fruit and dip from the tray of raw vegetables from Costco with a little dip on the side. And I have three liters of filtered water ready to go with me.

I just took the evening packet of pills for the 7-Day Healthy Cleanse and my regular supplements with LOTS of water. Hopefully I won’t have to get up too many times in the night to run to the bathroom to pee. This plan calls for LOTS of water ALL day long.

This cleansing takes some actual effort but then again… What is my health worth to me? EVERYTHING!!!

Stay tuned for Day Two’s reporting.
