Last evening I “tuned in” so to speak… to the Tweet-A-Thon hosted by Joel Comm.  The purpose of this Tweet-A-Thon was to raise money for a project that will bring pure drinking water to many in Kenya who have NEVER had pure drinking water in their lives. What I learned during this Tweet-A-Thon is just how MUCH Social Media can be used to get traffic and attention to a subject and to a web based event like this one. Please read on to learn about the event…

The event was held to raise money so that people in developing nations (specifically Kenya) can have clean drinking water! The really neat item that you can buy for $10 (US) is what is called a “straw” which is in reality a self-contained filter system that will last for about one year.  The user can go down to the river or any stream and scoop up a cup of the muddy and impure water, drink from it through the straw… and the water they get in their body is pure and will support healthy development.  It’s a real life saver… for only $10.

I’m not wealthy (yet) so I could only donate one but some of the Fantastic guests on the program chipped in and donated 100 of them at a time!  That was really cool to see.

One of the last guests on the program for the evening was MC Hammer and by listening to the conversation between “The Hammer” and Joel Comm… I came away with a GREATLY elevated impression of this young man.  He was invited to go to Kenya this coming fall to actually be on stage in concert and to actually participate in placing these life giving straws in the hands of people in Kenya.  His immediate response was that he’d love to and if his schedule will allow him to go… I actually believe he’ll be the hit of the trip!

It’s my humble but accurate opinion that very few people actually get ALL the traffic to their websites that they’d like to…

Are you “settling for” what you have, in the way of traffic to your website, instead of really “working for” what you could have?

All too often I see my fellow webmasters complaining about the lack of traffic and most of them are complaining instead of working smart to get that traffic.  That’s my opinion now… It’s not necessarily fact… but I do believe it’s more fact than fiction.

I was reading some of the material that came with my monthly shipment from one of my ‘subscription’ education sources and what I found is that there are Guru’s teaching some of the things that I’ve been promoting for some time now… and I was shocked!

What are they teaching?  It’s a “four letter word!”  Are you ready for it?  It’s spelled… W-O-R-K !  That’s right.  Just plain old work… and not too much of it.  Just enough and at a specific time of the day.  That’s what amazed me!  About one hour… at a specific time of the day!

What hour and doing what?  My source informs me that the “guru” being quoted has everyone in his company spend an hour each day, BEFORE doing ANYTHING ELSE, on a specific traffic generation tactic of their own choice.

If YOU did that EVERY day, what effect do you think it would have on YOUR business?  Do you think it would improve things?  We believe it would and that ‘s exactly what we do.  We spend an hour each morning surfing one of the Groups in our daily surfing plan.  And again, late in the afternoon, we do that again!
